Choose three:
- the ability to stay in whatever key the rest of the band is playing?
- the ability to not miss the fret as you move around? or to not miss the
string when you go to pluck it?
- to, in part, reprise the sequence that the lead singer's supposed to be
singing?
- the really-high-note-held-with-the-fingers-of-one-hand-while-tweedling-
two-frets-up-with-the-other-hand?
- making miaow-noises by bending the string?
- including short bursts from other well-known lead breaks - not so much
that you can be accused of ripping it off, or even doing a tribute, but
just enough to fall under the category of intertextuality?
- or is it just placing all of your fingers on an array of positions
selected to produce deliberately discordant notes, jamming the effects
pedal all the way down and just strumming like fuck?
