i remember crawling from the wreckage of the craft i'd managed to cobble together. it had gotten me this far; when i'd set out, i was primarily concerned with getting away from the last place i'd crashed in. that it moved was good enough for me.

i remember looking about, examining the place i'd landed. it was completely inhospitable. worse, it was freezing; hardly any sunlight. i smacked my forehead -i'd landed at one of the poles, dammit. i wasn't going to freeze to death, but there wouldn't be anyone here i could use.

i crawled back into the wreckage and went to sleep. maybe someone would come by one day and dig me out.
