Truly Computers

The crazed hardware hacker tightens the last screw, sits back in his chair and stares lovingly at the hardware on his desk. It's a strange, customised combination of dozens of different machines, hotted up like the Monaros you can see hooning up and down Lygon Street of a Saturday night. It's got seventeen blindingly fast processors in parallel, gigabytes of ram, squickabytes of unbelievably fast-access hard disk, a monitor half the size of his bed and a keyboard that he built himself, tuned and shaved to fit his hands perfectly. On this keyboard, even a four-thumbed two-finger typist like him can type ninety words per minute and hardly think about it.

He reaches out an index finger towards the pale grey power button, anticipating the ... The THINGS he can do with this much computer power...

Then he goes over to the couch and watches Ren and Stimpy cartoons for the rest of the day. He dies in his sleep that evening.
