So, okay, Slash the Slashers. Um.

Well, there once was a livejournal community called "fandom_wank", set up originally to point out the idiocy of flamewars, fandom arguments, character hatred, Big Name Fans, demands for feedback, and basically any type of wankish (erm, not a word) behavior to be found on the net. It was suspended, and moved to first another livejournal community, and then another livejournal community (both also suspended), a Blurty community, and then over to Journalfen, where, I'm pretty sure, it still lives. Blah blah blah, much suspension angst, much self-righteousness on the part of those mocked, blah wankercakes.

Anyway. While fandom_wank was still at livejournal, in the original community, the issue came up of the difference between real person slash and fictional person slash. Many FPS writers, or at least it seemed at the time, look down on RPS as being immoral or disgusting, not the thing to do, a sign of stalkerish behavior, whatever. The quote that came up many times was, "How would you like it if someone wrote slash about you? Wouldn't you feel violated?" Many answered, "Fuck no. I'd think it was fantastic," and, pretty much, STS was born.
